How Hosting Horizon collects, uses, and protects your information
This Privacy Policy explains what information Hosting Horizon collects when you use our site, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to Hosting Horizon ("Hosting Horizon," "we," "us").
Information you provide directly — such as your name and email address when you submit a review, contact us, submit a business listing, or claim a provider profile. When you submit a review, we also record the IP address associated with the submission, which helps us moderate reviews and prevent abuse.
Account information — if you create a business account to manage a provider profile, we collect the information needed to verify and operate that account, such as a work email address tied to the company's domain.
Automatically collected information — including your browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs, and approximate location derived from your IP address, collected through cookies and similar technologies as described below.
Cookies and Analytics
Hosting Horizon uses cookies and similar technologies for a few purposes: keeping the site functional (for example, remembering your session or preferences), understanding how visitors use the site through analytics, and measuring the performance of affiliate links as described below. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.
Affiliate Links and Tracking
Some outbound links on Hosting Horizon go through a /go/ redirect and are affiliate links. When you click one of these links, an affiliate tracking cookie or similar identifier may be set so that, if you make a purchase, Hosting Horizon can receive a commission from the provider. This tracking is limited to attributing the referral and does not affect the content or ratings shown on the site. See our Advertising Disclosure for more.
Bot Protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on forms such as review submission and contact forms to help distinguish real visitors from automated bots. Turnstile may process limited technical information about your browser and device as part of this check. This helps keep reviews and other submissions genuine. You can review Cloudflare's own privacy practices on their website.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve Hosting Horizon, including publishing and moderating reviews, maintaining provider profiles and Hosting Horizon Scores, responding to inquiries, verifying business claims, preventing fraud and abuse, and understanding how the site is used. We do not sell your personal information.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, such as keeping a review associated with its author for accountability, or as required by law. You can request deletion of your personal information as described below, though the review text itself may remain published in a de-identified form to preserve the integrity of a provider's review history.
Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Others)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access the data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of your data in a portable format. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of certain sharing. To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form.
Children's Privacy
Hosting Horizon is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date below. Continued use of Hosting Horizon after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
This policy was last updated on September 28, 2026.
