How We Earn Money
Hosting Horizon participates in affiliate programs run by hosting providers. When you click certain links on our site — marked by a /go/ redirect — and go on to sign up for or purchase a hosting plan, we may earn a commission from that provider. This comes at no extra cost to you; the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to the provider directly.
What This Does Not Affect
Affiliate commissions have no influence on a provider's Hosting Horizon Score. Hosting Horizon Score is calculated using the same automatic formula for every provider, based only on approved user reviews, as explained on our Hosting Horizon Score page. A provider cannot pay to raise its score, appear higher in review search results, or have negative reviews removed. Providers that don't participate in any affiliate program at all are treated the same way in our rating system as those that do.
Best-Of Lists and Featured Placement
Our best-of category lists, such as Best Web Hosting, are ordered using Hosting Horizon Score combined with relevant plan data, as explained in our Rating Methodology. Providers that offer Hosting Horizon readers an exclusive coupon code may be featured at the top of the lists they qualify for — we have a commercial relationship with these providers. Featured placements are labeled on each list, and they never change a provider's Hosting Horizon Score or the user reviews shown.
